Description: "The Firehouse," as it is called by locals, is one of the city's most unique and interesting landmarks. -Housed within the original Rapid City firehouse, a structure built of four layer brick in 1915, the building is listed on the National Historic Register. We offer a full service restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor dining. Experience a vibrant atmosphere with live entertainment by local musicians in addition to live theatre most Friday and Saturday evenings (view our website for a list of upcoming events). Of course, the Main attraction at the Firehouse is our uniquely flavored, hand crafted beers along with a menu of the Midwest's favorite dishes. With culinary selections ranging from salads and BBQ to buffalo and gumbo, there is something for everyone at the Firehouse Brewing Company.

We're on a 6 month road trip starting from our home in Oregon and we stopped in Rapid City, SD. Being from the Pacific Northwest we enjoy our microbrew pubs and the Firehouse goes on the list as one of the best! We sat outside in the sun and as the sun went down the fire pit was lit and seating was available around the pit. For dinner we had iced tea which is rare for us at a brew pub but day 5 of a 6 month trip we wanted to pace ourselves! For food we had the Spontaneous Heating spicy gumbo and the 1/2 Reuben and Gorgonzola Ale soup. I am a Jambalaya aficionado and this gumbo is right up there with the best. My wife loved the sandwich and soup and 2 nice tasty pieces of Beer Bread. We're in town for 4 nights so I see another trip to the Firehouse! Highly recommend for food, great service and spectacular ambiance in an old historic setting.

After a loooong day on the road from Chi-Town, my fellow travelers and I were really looking forward to a few brewskis and some decent food and had identified The Firehouse Brewery via the Internet during our trip planning. All those roadside billboards and vintage fire trucks heightened our anticipation... And we were not disappointed. Well, not by the beer and food, that is. We tried, wheat, porter, Scottish ale and cream-style beer = all were delicious, and happy-hour priced appetizers were hot and tasty. However, some people just shouldn't be in the waitstaff business. Our ponytailed gentleman server was just such a fellow. When asked about the soup choices, we were answered with a brusque "look at the menu!" ... After we pointed out that "soup of the day" doesn't really tell us much, he strolled back to the kitchen to find out the answer. This guy's whole demeanor (plunking down plates, etc.) did not reflect well on the Firehouse. Maybe he just works there in the off-season. After he closed out our tab, his replacement performed well and was very much appreciated.

This restaurant is one of the best in Rapid City. Food is delicious every time I come here to eat. I have aten here on many occasions. I could not say I had a bad meal yet. Price is reasonable. Customer Service is excellent. The Staff is knowledgeable of the menu items. This used to be an old fire station in Rapid City. They do have some Fire Department History along the walls and many fire service patches from around the globe. I would recommend this to anyone. Last visit was back in 2009.

2 families with 4 kids. Had seen the trucks along the highway for miles and I can't turn down a brewery so we stopped on way to the a Badlands. Good pint and only $5. The burger was excellent. And kids loved the hats!

Dined here a couple of times during our week long stay because it seemed to be one of the only places where you could get good food and good service. The atmosphere is nice. Both times our servers were very good. The food is standard pub food but pretty good. Oriental salad was ok. Gorgonzola Ale soup was amazing. Strong scotch ale and Centennial Cream stout were both excellent. Also very kid friendly. Would definitely come back!
