We were on our way to Hot Springs, SD when a forecast snowfall turned into a major winter storm that dropped 27" of snow on Rapid City. After finding that most roads were going to be closed my wife made an online reservation using in phone. Upon arrival conditions were very blustery and the front desk greeted us and thanked us for staying with them during the storm. The storm continued into the next day and we extended our stay another day and learned that they were making special arrangements for restaurant service for lunch - a time they were not normally open. The food was great and reasonably priced considering they had a captive audience.
Despite the employees have to deal with their own issues associated with the storm not one ever mentioned their own hardship and was empathetic to the fact that we were stranded.
Definetely will stay there againMore
