“Wonderful Place to Stay & Great Location”
Reviewed May 24, 2012

My husband and I stayed in our Class C motor home. We went for a long weekend and picked the right time to go. This was our first time staying there. The staff was great and very helpful. We arrived after the office was closed, and Dave came to help us. While I was on the phone with Dave, another staff member stopped to see how they could be of assistance to us. We let them know that Dave was on his way. Dave had us choose a site for the night that worked out wonderfully. In the morning, we moved to another site without any hassles; Gina was extremely helpful. There is an older area they are trying to update (older showers, etc.), but the newer section is beautiful (bathrooms, showers, club house, etc.). The location of this place was fantastic. We were within 30 minutes or less to most places we wanted to see. We will stay at this location whenever we are in the area.

We will not be going as first time customer or any other time as this resort does not tell the truth about there plan. Was told would be able to use free gift while there did not say had to come back in 14 days. this is to many miles to do twice. not good people to deal with

We stayed at Rushmore Shadows Resort for 3 nights in our pop-up RV. We went on the "first time customer's" deal, which meant we had to sit through a presentation about their resorts. The staff were friendly, and the sales pitch was not aggressive at all.
The facilities were clean (bathrooms and showers). The campground seemed free of animals and we were shocked that there wasn't a bigger mosquito problem, considering it was the season for them!
The swimming pool was a great bonus to the area, and our kids really enjoyed that the most. I would stay here again if I were in the area.

SEXIST campground!!! Steer clear ladies!!! I was told that I could not get the special family rate unless my HUSBAND was present to help me make a financial decision!!! Thought I heard them wrong so I asked for a manager and got the same line. WOW! Good to know that a professional, college educated woman needs a man to make her decisions. I didn't think this type of behavior was allowable in 2011 USA!!!

July 2010 we RV'd to Rapid City, SD.

While there we stayed at the Rushmore Shadows Resort which was just south of Rapid City. It was a fantastic RV resort which also had cabins. It was centrally located so most of your tourist attractions were 15 - 30 minutes away.

We had our dogs along and they had a huge grassy area that ran alongside the drive coming into the resort. I wonder why they don't advertise this area. Our dogs loved going for walks away from the camping area and it was a huge plus with us.

The resort had great facilities - a pool, laundry area, clubhouse area for kids activities, free wifi, and a store. One evening they had a live band and barbeque for the campers. Everything was well looked after at the resort.

Some of our favourite attractions were Bear Country USA which was amazing having all the bears and other animals right alongside your vehicle. We also loved the Alpine Slide at Keystone which was where you took a chairlift up, and could luge down. The luge was a favourite and something young and old alike could do. However, there is so much to see & do in this area! Caves, cowboy suppers, panning for gold, go kart racing, mini golf, golf, beautiful drives in the various parks, trail riding, the Cosmos, shopping, etc etc.

It was an awesome vacation....busy...relaxing and we'd definitely go back and stay at Rushmore Shadow Resort again!!
