“Where the locals go - just get there before 11am”
Reviewed October 12, 2010

This is the hotspot for locals that need bagels. The vanilla nut is absolutely marvelous. It is pricey, though. One caveat is that they run out of bagels CONSISTENTLY before noon. By 2pm (an hour before close) all that's left is plain and jalapeno. It's remarkable that they don't make more. But the actual bagels are fantastic.

“Mix & match bagels & cream cheeses. A lot of delicious variety.”
Reviewed September 21, 2010

Try the white chocolate chip bagel, toasted. So good! There are at least a dozen bagels to pick from and another dozen types of cream cheese. They tend to lay it on pretty thick. They also sell coffee and lattes. Do expect a bit of a wait, even if the line isn't especially long. But, you will be getting the best bagels in town. The atmosphere is geared towards tourists and the service is friendly.

“Not your traditional bagel”
Reviewed September 18, 2010

Lox, Cream cheese, red onion and capers on a bagel... what could be easier or more traditional? You will never know at this place. These people make a sandwich out of these bready bagels. Ask for a plain bagel with butter on the side, and you get a soggy thing that resembles a sponge soaked in butter.

Want a regular cup of coffee? Forget it. The carafes are empty, leaving a choice of nazelnut, vanilla and other nasty things that have some coffee in them. Ask, and you will wait 15 minutes for an overpriced cup or generic coffee.

Rapid City must be able to do better, or certainly they will learn to do without.
