We bought trail mix, cheese strips, etc. to get us through the day at Badlands National Park. They have a pretty good selection of snacks and drinks here (much better than the next store, Badlands Ranch Store). They also had some souvenirs but we didn’t shop those. On the right side of the store is a prairie dog town.

We stopped here to gas before going into the badlands. Just put in enough to get us through. High priced gas and so do your fill up before you get here. The trading post is interesting and has a lot of things to look at but we didn't buy anything.

While anywhere else this would be just an average stop, here this is good one....because they are so rare.

Also note: in the off season the gas pumps are automated.

This area reminded me of the old days where the Cowboys and Indians hung out and did their rituals. Unbelievable place to peruse and pick up some items for some souvenirs.

Philip is small place in the middle of nowhere so to speak. If you are heading for the day into the Badlands National Park which is close by and need supplies then this is your place. There are prairie dogs near by that are fun to see close up for the whole family.
