After vacationing for several days in the Black Hills area, we stopped in to Perkins for a late lunch on our way home. The food was very good, which we expected from a Perkins restaurant. However, the service was terrific. After eating out most of the week, it was nice to have a waitress whose only concern was taking care of our dining needs.
Unlike some other waitresses at other restaurants, she wasn't overly chatty, she didn't complain about other customers, or about the length of her shifts. She made us feel as though we were her only customers, even though we weren't.
There was a small issue with the avocado in my wife's salad; some of it was too ripe. Emma, our waitress, brought us some fresher avocado and the manager adjusted our bill. Now, that is good customer service.
The next time we are traveling through South Dakota there is no doubt about where we will stop to eat; Perkins Restaurant in Mitchell.
