Like the little train that could, the Depot offers an interesting dining experience that is sure to be enjoyed by all. If you are headed west on I 90, you won't be sorry for making a pit stop in Mitchell to see the Corn Palace and dine at The Depot.

Stopped to eat at the Depot on the way to see Mt. Rushmore. Nothing fancy. Quick and friendly service. Fun décor. Food was average, but prices were great. Kids enjoyed tooting the whistle.
Good stop after a long day of driving.

This is an excellent local spot featuring good food and an impressive beer list. It's kid friendly, offering games and open spaces. The wait staff were great and a relaxing time was had. If you are going through Mitchell and looking for local flavor, try The Depot.

The location is in a historic old train depot... i.e., the name. However, other than the great old building, the Depot leaves one less than impressed.

We were drawn off the Interstate 80 by all the "Corn Palace" signs on a Sunday afternoon. We strolled several blocks down the street to The Depot from Corn Palace. It is worth the trip. I had a rib eye and partner had a hamburger. Both were good and service was fine. Note, if you're a railroad buff, this is near a must stop on your trip. Place if full of interesting railroad items.
