What a fantastic stay we had at the Steever House! My girlfriend surprised me with a stay here for my birthday and what a gift! The house is very charming and the hosts are very personable people.

We stayed in the Attic room, which included such amenities as a nice size whirlpool tub, fireplace, king size bed, etc.! Since it is in the "attic" there are a lot of dormers and interesting angles everywhere throughout the space, and even I had to duck at times with my towering 5'5" frame. However, this also gives the space a sense of coziness and warmth that I think would be otherwise lost. The floors were done with a combination of wood, carpet and tile depending on which area you are in and it all seemed to work very well. It was also very quiet up there, we never heard any noises at all from other guests, plumbing, hvac etc. so that was nice as well. Felt like we were the only ones in the house!

In the morning we were able to select a breakfast time and it was wonderful to come down to a set table awaiting our arrival. Specialty pancakes, a good size bowl of various fruit, rhubarb muffins, ham, eggs etc. were all very delicious! We had our choice of beverages, of which, I had the orange juice and fresh "french press" coffee.

The operators are now adding an outdoor shelter to handle things like weddings etc. and it is being very tastefully done with wood shakes etc. Seems they are always adding and upgrading the place which is nice to see.

I highly, highly recommend staying here, and would have no doubt that you will thoroughly enjoy your stay here!

From the lively company of hosts John and Sarah to the comfortable, beautifully decorated rooms to the outstanding breakfast (I will be making those toffee scones), Steever House was an example of exactly how a bed and breakfast should be. It is peacefully set on a rural road, but close to amenities and Sioux Falls.

We just loved it here. I wanted to stay in Sioux falls but could not find a B and B that worked for us. After searching, i came across Steever House and read the sterling reviews and I was so glad I found it. The people are so nice, they offered us a bottle of homebrewed beer and sat and talked with us in the parlor. The rooms were nice, beds very comfortable, we were in the blue room.
The price was very reasonable and we enjoyed an awesome breakfast the next day.
It's the family here that makes it so great-a nice, quiet property-a little off the beaten path-but very worth it!

We travelled across from Deadwood across South Dakota to catch a flight to Chicago from Sioux Falls. Our stop for the night was the Steever House, the house was moved to its present location by the Steever family who now own the house and run the B&B. We stayed in the Yellow room and it was fabulous the family are very nice and we could have stayed a lot longer chatting to them after we had finished our breakfast which we both think is the nicest breakfast we have ever had anywhere. Just take a look at their website it really is that good

We were travelling from Chicago to Deadwood and chose this place to stay for a night en route. Turned out to be one of those places you wish you were staying longer. Lovely house. Warm welcome from Sarah and children when we arrived late evening. Very friendly and helpful and provided tea for me and micro brewery beer for husband (who was so grateful after a long drive), Room was beautiful and whole house a delight. Next morning we met John who served a delicious breakfast and gave lots of info for our journey west. His recommendations for sights to see along the way were spot on. I cannot recommend this place too highly for comfort, welcome, food and price. The only thing is it is a little remote if you wanted to be in the centre of things - but Sioux Falls is only 20 minutes away in the car and it was lovely and quiet at night.

My wife and I drove all the way across South Dakota to stay at The Steever House the night before we caught a plane to Chicago from Sioux Falls. The moment we arrived we were welcomed by the whole family (not all at once so not overwhelming). We sat and chatted to the family and felt perfectly at home. The house is around 100 years old and was moved 70 miles to its current location and has a fantastic amount of character, we are from England and we have plenty of old buildings and we loved this place. The Steever House is certainly of our favourite places we have ever stayed in. If you are bored with Days Inn, Radisson etc go and stop in a real place with real hospitality with people who when thay say have a nice day they mean it.
