We were touring on our BMW motorcycle. It began to pour rain as we entered Lead. We spied a pretty resort motel with a protective overhang and zipped under it while we slipped on our rain gear. After a few minutes Bobby Rock, the Assistant General Manager, came out and we figured he would be asking us to move along, but no! He did just the opposite! He invited our drippy selves in to view the weather on his office computer and he commiserated with us while we waited out the rain and decided it wasn't going to stop. He offered us a room at a special rate and even though we didn't intend to stay in Lead that evening, we were so happy we did. Bobby suggested some site-seeing and historical places to go see, he gave us beverage and breakfast tickets. The room was on the 5th floor, large, clean, comfy, and the night time lights of Lead were so pretty. The kindness and consideration received at this establishment has been voiced to many already and we will continue to sing its praises.

Although the rooms are very large and with large windows, which is nice, they are somewhat old fashioned and kitsch. The bath room is quite tiny and the washbasin is inside the room itself what is unusual, to say the least. The bed was too soft for my taste and the pillows to high. On the positive side, it should be added that everything was very clean and in fair shape, and the room was very quite (no noise from either inside the hotel or from the road). The personal at the front desk was very helpful and nice. The breakfast was very poor. The location is more or less in the middle of nowhere but that happens very often in US …

Staff put on a party for a group and did an excellent job! Wonderful party room, good food, great service! Band in the bar-everyone had a terrific time! Breakfast buffet the next morning was excellent. Good location if you don't want to be in Deadwood. Close to skiing and snowmobiling.

I must start by saying that the possitive reviews on this hotel must clearly have been written by the hotel's owners, employees or else people with VERY low standards.....in fact no standards at all. This place is truly horrendous! The rooms are severely dated, with a feeling of filth. The bathroom is barely the size of a closet; too small even to accomadate a wash basin which instead is in the bedroom! Didnt want to look too closely at the bed sheets and so decided to keep our clothes on at night so as to avoid direct skin contact! My skin is crawling just thinking about it! Suffice to say we left after the first night....early the next morning! To call this place a resort is laughable. In retrospect my mistake was to depart from my golden rule; When looking for a hotel to act as nothing more than a place to rest your head for a couple of nights do not stray from the recognised brands.....Hampton by Hilton, Fairfield by Marriot, Four Points by Sheraton, Country Inn & Suites by Carlson or Holiday Inn Express. They have a reputation to protect and you can thus guarantee a clean and pleasant stay!

Checked into this place as part of a tour group...so they know the score: you have to be up at 5.45 and on the bus at 7.00am. So why then put us all up on the floor above the live band so that we can't get a wink of sleep? Calls to the front desk were fruitless...the worst place in a fortnight's tour of the best places in the US. (And one of them ain't Lead!)

Considering the price we paid to stay in this RESORT, we were disappointed to find the room somewhat old fashioned and stinking of cigarette smoke. (we were in a clearly marked NON SMOKING room). No blow dryers...strange sink setup in the bedroom area, not in the bathroom....I would not go back...

To be honest I feel a little mean only giving 3/5 ideally I'd say 3 and a half really. Our stay wasn't really average but it wasn't "very" good either.
The hotel is pet friendly and while I certainly haven't got a problem with that we did have a very yappy dog in the room next to ours, however the moment we mentioned it at reception we were moved rooms without a moments hesitation.
I thought both the rooms we saw looked like they need a refurb and indeed a staff member informed me that it's being planned. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
