I stayed at the Lakota Prairie Ranch Resort at the recommendation of a Lakota colleague on the Pine Ridge reservation. It's a relatively new property. My room was clean, spacious and had a comfortable queen bed, and included a fridge and microwave. The walls were a bit thin, the usual motel scene where you hear your neighbor's TV, but in my case they were considerate and turned it off relatively early. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There's a deposit for the key and for an ethernet cable (the wireless was a bit weak outside the lobby/restaurant area) that was promptly refunded. I was not able to successfully connect to the internet despite having a decent signal, they mentioned recent connectivity issues.
The lobby also has a nice gift shop/studio area and a restaurant. The meals were fairly priced, especially breakfast, and were of a respectable diner quality. There were no vegetarian options on the dinner menu, but they did serve breakfast at any time which was nice.
The motel is convenient to several Pine Ridge locations, and would be a good stop on the way to or from Badlands National Park. I found it a good value, better than average accomodations for a motel, and would stay again on my next trip.
