Beware that there are only two menu options at the Alpine Inn. The first is a filet mignon and the second is spaetzle. The pricing is fantastic!

We drove to Hill City so we could be in line for the 5 o'clock seating. We waited in the bar with a very pleasant bartender and were seated at a window by 5:05. Out waitress was extremely pleasant and efficient. The salad dressing is excellent and our filets were cooked exactly as ordered. We then shared an Apple Napoleon for dessert. Everything was very fresh. The most pleasant surprise to me was that at no time were we rushed. Good meal and pleasant surroundings at a very reasonable price!

It is a must stop when we are in the area. Bread pudding is outstanding! Wedge of salad with house dressing is unique and good. Steak is generally good as well.

After trouring the area we stopped for dinner at the Inn, felt like I was back in Germany (USAF) The menu was limited but the final product was excellent. Try the wurst and eat the apple streudel with the carmel sauce. Wait staff was friendly and paid attention to us through out the meal. Seating on the pourch is first come first served while inside is seated by Hostess. Get a window seat on North side of patio and take it all in!

The restaurant is in a historic hotel, which is fun to see. Good German food, but the dessert is the standout - 30 different homemade selections. We liked the creme brûlée and apple strudel with caramel sauce.

A bit hard to feed a kid, no chips or fries offered, only German potato salad. Cash only, no credit cards accepted.
