We were very disappointed in the quality and quantity of our meals. The salad consisted of a bowl of limp greens with one grape tomato and one slice of cucumber buried in the greens. The bread was a pre-sliced store bought and with individual containers of Country Crock spread. The soup was a beer cheese which had a cornstarch thickened texture and an artificial cheese taste. When we asked the server about it she told us it was made by adding beer to a mix. We ordered the large filet. Although it was cooked to order, it was the smallest filet of that size we can ever remember being served. The medium-sized baked potato and 8 carrot slices tasted as if had been prepared earlier in the day and warmed up in the microwave. The sour cream was the gelatinous variety not real. The garnish of watermelon was the highlight of the meal. The hostess and server were both very pleasant and attentive, but they could not make up for the less than adequate food. When we arrived at 5:45 the broasted chicken being served looked and smelled very good. However, we were told they were sold out of it as they had only prepared 9 servings that day. Our server told us they were trying to cut back. The setting was nice but it is a drive as it's about 1/2 way between Keystone and Hisega. If we were driving by and they had the broasted chicken available, we would still be very hesitant to try this place again.

We found this restaurant using our AAA materials. It's in a lovely countryside setting and is lovely inside, too. Dark wood, nicely decorated. Small and cozy. Very professionally-mannered waitstaff. Our steaks were fabulous! Way more that we expected out in the countryside! The two couples who were seated next to us were on their 2nd night in a row at Horse Creek Inn, so we knew we'd chosen well.

Closes to the Summer Creek Inn and highly recommended by the inn. The prime rib special was terrific, as was the filet mignon on another night. The salmon was also good and we enjoyed the salads, although the salad dressings were only adequate. A nice selection of wines and beer, and the chocolate dessert was incredible.

This place is out of the way a bit but I felt worth it. We were looking for a steak and based on tripadvisor reviews we went here. We both had ribeyes which were cooked perfectly although I felt could use more seasoning. All of the food was served piping hot and quickly. Our server was attentive withour being overly obtrusive. We were going to have the prime rib but it is only served Thursday through Sunday. I will go back if we are in the area.

We went here tonight based on previous reviews written on Tripadvisor. We were very pleased although we had a little trouble finding it as it is out of Hill City a ways. The Beer Cheese Soup was very good! And we both ordered the Prime Rib. It was cooked as ordered, very flavorful and tender.
Our only disappointment was that they serve Country Crock margarine for the bread and baked potato rather than real butter. The servers were friendly and attentive and even gave us information on sights to visit in the area. We were also pleasantly surprised when we received the check and it was much less than we expected. Truly a good value!
