We were very disappointed in the quality and quantity of our meals. The salad consisted of a bowl of limp greens with one grape tomato and one slice of cucumber buried in the greens. The bread was a pre-sliced store bought and with individual containers of Country Crock spread. The soup was a beer cheese which had a cornstarch thickened texture and an artificial cheese taste. When we asked the server about it she told us it was made by adding beer to a mix. We ordered the large filet. Although it was cooked to order, it was the smallest filet of that size we can ever remember being served. The medium-sized baked potato and 8 carrot slices tasted as if had been prepared earlier in the day and warmed up in the microwave. The sour cream was the gelatinous variety not real. The garnish of watermelon was the highlight of the meal. The hostess and server were both very pleasant and attentive, but they could not make up for the less than adequate food. When we arrived at 5:45 the broasted chicken being served looked and smelled very good. However, we were told they were sold out of it as they had only prepared 9 servings that day. Our server told us they were trying to cut back. The setting was nice but it is a drive as it's about 1/2 way between Keystone and Hisega. If we were driving by and they had the broasted chicken available, we would still be very hesitant to try this place again.
