Can't say enough about Brule'. It was amazing, mesmerizing, spiritual, and totally entertaining. If you are in the Black Hills do not miss it! I had heard it described as Native American Rock.... which is not a good description. I would call it "expanded" Native American music, as the core is the native drum and flute, but the sound has been expanded by keyboard, guitar, and trap drum. The music is wonderful, and the story behind each song is explained adding to the depth of the piece. Three Native American championship male "fancy dancers" and two Native American female dancers performed continually and were absolutely amazing to watch. Their regalia was magnificent. It was spiritual and uplifting. I can't remember enjoying any other performance more. The only downside was the seating. VIP seating (only a few dollars more) is on picnic tables which are a bit uncomfortable for the 2 hour show (bring cushions). Regular tickets you must bring your own chair. It was not crowded, so I think for the best option.. bring your own chair. You will be more comfortable yet will be able to see just fine. It is outdoors, and gets cool at sunset, bring a jacket. I HIGHLY recommend that you don't miss this show. The performers are top musicians and dancers, and very kind people who spend time with the audience after the performance. ps the chairs you see are special seating that was for 2 busloads of Native American elders who attended the performance that night, and I don't think are available normally
