Can't say enough about Brule'. It was amazing, mesmerizing, spiritual, and totally entertaining. If you are in the Black Hills do not miss it! I had heard it described as Native American Rock.... which is not a good description. I would call it "expanded" Native American music, as the core is the native drum and flute, but the sound has been expanded by keyboard, guitar, and trap drum. The music is wonderful, and the story behind each song is explained adding to the depth of the piece. Three Native American championship male "fancy dancers" and two Native American female dancers performed continually and were absolutely amazing to watch. Their regalia was magnificent. It was spiritual and uplifting. I can't remember enjoying any other performance more. The only downside was the seating. VIP seating (only a few dollars more) is on picnic tables which are a bit uncomfortable for the 2 hour show (bring cushions). Regular tickets you must bring your own chair. It was not crowded, so I think for the best option.. bring your own chair. You will be more comfortable yet will be able to see just fine. It is outdoors, and gets cool at sunset, bring a jacket. I HIGHLY recommend that you don't miss this show. The performers are top musicians and dancers, and very kind people who spend time with the audience after the performance. ps the chairs you see are special seating that was for 2 busloads of Native American elders who attended the performance that night, and I don't think are available normally

This was the highlight of our family reunion. A must see. We purchased the VIP seating which was well worth the few dollars extra.

What a night!! Beautiful music that you will not hear anywhere else and melodies that will appeal to all ages. The concert was entertaining, spiritual and educational as well. Contemporary music with a Native American flare featuring native drums and flute. Native American dancers dressed in gorgeous Native American regalia accompanied the music and added to the wonderful evening. We found the musician who played the Native American drums very entertaining as well. We could have sat and listened all night. Paul LaRoche, the composer and leader of this unique band, has a fascinating story about his journey in life; first as an adopted child living in the white mans world and life today after he finding his birth family on the Lower Brule Reservation in SD. The VIP seating was worth every penny of the $25 per person ticket. We were fans before and are even bigger fans now that we have seen them perform in person.

Come as casual as you like for an evening of music and dance that you will never forget!, The casual, outdoor amphitheater, with picnic tables for the up front vip section creates a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. You can bring food or buy there. all facilities were new in June 2013. Traditions of the Lakota people are shared and illustrated through the beautiful music performed by Paul LaRoche and AIRO on keyboard, flute and drums. The inspirational music is enhanced by talented Native American dancers. This is a new venue and currently scheduled for June, July and August 2013, so check their website for specific performance dates in future summers.

We've seen them several times and it is such a joy! Beautiful music, excellent talent - Everyone should see them at least once in their life - if not more!
