Always enjoy stopping by, Not a great fan of the wine here, but the service and atmosphere is great and I was completely amazed at the beer they make there. Very much worth the stop, I will definitly be back....again!

The Naked Winery and brewery offer Oregon and Washington state produced wines with names that play on sexual innuendos. All of this is in good fun! The wines themselves are quite average, drinkable but not great. The brewery does business under the "Sick 'n' Twisted" name, and has some decent micro-brews.

Naked Winery knows that the best babysitter is sometimes cartoons (I'm only half-joking) and that parents sometimes need a little adult time. To address that, the location in Custer City (I can't speak for the one in Hill City because we didn't go there) had a little area with cartoons and goldfish crackers and a couch for your kiddos to sit on while you enjoy a wine tasting.
They did charge $5 per tasting (6 wines) but they talk through what you are tasting while you do so and also make recommendations. Our person threw in an extra wine she thought she would like based on what we liked about halfway through the tasting. There is also beer and beer tasting!
South Dakota wine tends to be sweet, so if you like sweet wine, you'll love this. If you like dry wine, they still have something for you, I'm sure. There was plenty to try. The Naked Winery wines had some very fun names as well.
We left there happy, a little tipsy, and with three bottles of wine and three bottles of beer, so I call it a success!

First know that Naked wines are not made from South Dakota-grown grapes. They source fruit from California and Oregon, if I recall. Presuming you don't mind that, you will probably have an enjoyable tasting experience at the Custer City location. We stopped in because it was convenient---and because our effort to go to the Hill City location the previous evening was a bust. (They closed at 7:00 pm.) As you might guess from the "Naked" name, the wine titles and their label descriptions are racy and witty. The person pouring for us was great fun and seemed knowledgeable. I would rate the wines average, but I gave the business extra points for their fun, approachable ethos. If only more wineries on the East Coast were less stuffy!
