“Worth stopping in for some wine!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2013

There are some "wineries" in the South Dakota area, but they are glorified liquor stores as they don't produce any wine. Unlike, Prairie Berry. They do actually make the wines they sell and I wanted to stop in for wine make from local ingredients. There is a wine make from black currants, Lawrence Elk, that is really fabulous as well as one made from buffaloberries. You can taste all the wines before buying (the first five tastings are free and then it is only $5 for another five). Really great place to spend a few hours!

“Haha, We both dragged each other back again! "I shall return!" (see previous review)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

And it wasn't too hard. The wine specialist (I don't know how the heck to spell that fancy conniseur word, and yes, I know how to use the crackers now.) girlfriend led the wine tasting. I led the food tasting and we found something for her this time. Food portions huge, and we took 3 cartons home and ate it all. I have 2 other favorite chow places in Hill City and Prairie Berry just made the list. Parking lot's done and pre-Rally crowd not bad. Nice outside seating. And if you men don't take your girlfriend or wife here, yur really, really dumb ;-)

Thank you for your return visit! That's great to see you come back and post again. We really enjoyed your comments... Probably as much as you enjoyed the food! We will share with the rest of staff. Especially appreciate your call out to the gentlemen. Thank you so much!

“Cool Winery”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

If your in the black hills and like wine this is a must stop. The wine tasting was a lot of fun and even you don't like wine you should try it. I was surprised about how big the place was when we got there. The shop is huge and roomy. It can handle a large crowd so don't be scared it will take too long if you see a lot of cars. The wine was good. My only complaint was the tastings were bigger. They were much smaller than what I was use to. We did not have any food but the food looked good.

Thank you for taking the time to stop and for writing your review! We appreciate your wanting larger pours. It shows you liked what you were tasting! As a free tasting that we offer everyone who visits, we do have to keep the samples small. If you get a chance to visit again, however, you are welcome to double the size of your samples. There is a $5 fee, but a number of people do enjoy taking us up on that option so they can enjoy each sample just a bit longer. Thanks again!

“Lovely winery in the Black Hills!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2013 via mobile

Wo knew there would be wineries in the Black Hills of South Dakota? My 86 year old mother in law and I stopped in to check it out and were happy we did. Very pretty little place where you can sit out on a lovely patio to sip good wine. My mother in law just had to bring home a bottle of the Red A-- Red wine! The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. A very pleasant stop for us!

“Fun place to visit...mediocre wine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2013

I new thought of South Dakota as being wine country but we were attracted to the winery by the billboards touting Redass Rhubarb wine. Fun wine tasting of fruity, sweet wines. Not the kind of wine one would choose to "lay down."
