Description: Experience our award-winning wines in a fun and relaxed setting in the heart of the Black Hills. Find us three miles northwest of Hill City on Highway 385, just a few miles from Mount Rushmore National Memorial and Crazy Horse Memorial. We’re Hill City’s only working winery and Sandi Vojta, our fifth generation winemaker, handcrafts each wine, often using old family recipes, just a few steps from our Tasting Room. Start your Prairie Berry Winery experience with a free wine tasting of up to five of our award-winning wines, including our Anna Pesä handcrafted traditional European wines, at our Tasting Bars. We produce a variety of wines in styles for every palate – from crisp, dry wines and robust, oak-aged reds to sweet, fruity varieties. Our Kitchen offers housemade menu items including gluten-free, vegetarian and kids’ options. Menu selections pair perfectly with our wines, vary with the season and many of our ingredients are sourced locally. Enjoy a meal on our patio with our beautiful views of Black Elk Peak (formerly Harney Peak). Our brewery, Miner Brewing Company, is located next door.

Althought I did not get a chance to eat I did however get to try some of the wines here. I am not a huge wine drinker and when I find a good one I stick with it, so telling the staff my likes and dislikes knew exactly what to recommend. They were knowledgable of all of the wine they had served us. It was all delicious. Hopefully next time I can get a chance to eat there!

Staff was really nice and took their time to explain everything. The place is charming and the food very good. Wine tasting is free and the wine selection and variety was very good. The food was reasonable if you wanted it. My only regret is that they do not ship to my home state and we did not want to do carryon.

I liked the visit. It's worth the free stop. Some of the employees knew a lot of info about the wine, while others didn't. They also have cheese and coffee to taste. I believe they serve lunch. Purchased some wine; they asked about joining a wine club, but declined.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your visit. Our seasonal employees are at various stages of experience, so some are more knowledgeable about the wines than others. We appreciate you pointing that out, and we will work on enhancing our training so our guest experience is not affected. Thanks for visiting!

Great building, views from the patio, good wines and a really good cafe. The food was a really pleasant surprise...varied, tasty and prepared well. Really enjoyed the food. The wines tend towards the sweet side. Tried all of the reds and they are good. Our secret find were their jellies which they make in the kitchen...wow. Picked up a couple to take back home. Great way to spend a couple hours.

We were interested in the famous rhubarb wine because who wouldn't be ??? so we stopped in for a tasting and found many delicious wines to bring home to Missouri with us. Sure wish this winery was closer. This is a MUST taste place.
