Had breakfast - plenty of coffee and it was good. Would do it again.

Needed a place to stop on our drive across South Dakota, and found Medicine Creek Cafe just off 212. This country restaurant is as basic as it gets, but the food was delicious and the server was very warm and inviting. I recommend trying any of their board specials, like the beef combo or chicken fried steak. The menu also offers a variety of sandwiches and salads. if you're driving through Gettysburg, this is the place to satisfy any home-cooking cravings.

Don't bother stopping in at this restaurant unless you just want poor quality food fixed the way they want it. Order breakfast of ham, eggs over hard and hash browns. The ham was a canned water product that was more gristle, fat and water than meat. The eggs came out over easy. My buddy also ordered eggs over hard; his were over easy also. I don't know if the cook doesn't know what that means or just doesn't care. Hash browns were the best part of the meal and they were just frozen potatoes with butter browned on the griddle. All in all, I'd say probably one of the worst breakfasts I've ever been served. And breakfast should be pretty easy and standard fare.

Mediocre food, bad service, and average prices....I won't be going back to Medicine Rock again. Two of our orders were incorrect. I don't think the cook knows how to fry an egg hard. Bad service all around.
