Paid £100 for a completely dated, cold, dark, extremely average room. Ate in the bar on the Saturday evening, again just very basic, average. As leaving read in the guest review book 'beautiful hotel' I must have stayed somewhere else.

This is a nice country hotel in beautiful surrounds. The lunch menu at the bar was fairly basic (hamburgers, chicken club sandwich) but perfect for a snack and the breakfast was also very nice. We had requested a quiet room on check in so were a little disappointed to be shown to a rather small room over the bar with a broken toilet; it meant the cistern was constantly dripping. When I reported this to Reception, they were already aware of the problem and informed me this couldn't be fixed; I was left wondering why we were put in this room in the first place?! Anyway, they did relocate us to a room in the relatively new build part of the building. The room was much bigger with nice outlook but again, very loud. The extractor in the bathroom was noisy (so don't go turning on the bathroom light in the middle of the night!) and the pipes in the building also rumbled from the time guests started having showers in the morning. No lie-in for us! Anyway, all in all, it was a good overnight stop with very pleasant staff and in a good location. We would probably stay here again if in the area.

Had a nice stay here. Room was very nice and staff are very good. Bit of a problem with breakfast but mistakes do happen and it was sorted out quickly. We didnt have dinner at the hotel but if the breakfast we did have was anything to go by i think it should be very good.
I would recommend it.

This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel, our room was lovely and as always standards are very high. The staff could not do enough for us very helpful nothing was any trouble. We had a lovely relaxing time and breakfast was great, dinner was superb and we will recommend to our family and friends. Wewill be going back again and again.

we had a one night stay over the weekend with friends.First impressions were very good (location & grounds) The rooms were excellent, clean and bed very comfortable, unfortunately this was all let down when we chose to eat in. As there was a wedding funtion on we had to use the small restaurant behind the bar.We ordered our meals which were to be served with seasonal vegatables. The meals came not cooked to order, only warm & with no vegatables these were later brought with an apology as we were about to finish the main course so were not eaten. We were then left waiting ages to order the desserts no sign of any waiting staff. The desserts were eventually served but not complete as on the menu.It became obvious to us that not enough staff we on duty & the wedding took first priority. After we eventually finished our meal we thought we would chill out in the bar area, but as the evening guests for the wedding had arrived the place was packed & nowhere to sit so we could only return to our rooms. It appears this hotel priorities wedding functions so if you go there when they have a wedding you can expect to get a poor service as we did. We were given a 20% discount on our bill as the hotel accepted our complaints
