This is an historic property with a lot of potential. The owner obviously loved her historic Sioux Quartzite (i.e. rose stone) hotel which she had converted to a B&B in the early 1990s. We enjoyed talking to her about the history of the building (she was a lovely person). The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was also quite good.
However, the hotel is in serious need of another renovation (and a good cleaning in the process). The bathroom was a box sectioned out of the main room (the Violet Room) and was both crampt and not-so-clean. The outside of the building also requires maitenance.
The owner indicated that her son might take over in the near future and make some changes. However, until then, it is significantly overpriced--a terrible paradox since it will take some money to maintain and update the building.
