This is an interesting place to eat. It;s located in the Kevin Costner's Casino and it features displays from most of his movies. The menu is varied and good. The portions are decent and the price is okay. The wait staff and the people in the casino are extremely congenial and helpful.

I loved this place as a bar--the drinks were magnificent, served in 1/2 liter wine carafes--Margaritas, Bloody Mary's, draft beer, other concoctions-- great ambience, at least if you like Kevin Costner -- it is all Costner on all the walls.

I also think the food was a good value for Deadwood--I had an awesome burger for 7.95 with potatoes. Quite a bit more to make it with Buffalo rather than Beef. Everyone liked the food.

But I have to say it took a while to get things served--they are apparently understaffed, and I am not sure the kitchen isn't geographically distant, making order delivery a logistical problem. But if you have time, go for it -- fun place.

Let's face it, a stay in Deadwood would not be complete without a visit to Kevin Costner's place. Yes, it is corny, but it is fun. You can unashamedly potter about the place and look at the posters and costumes and try and remember the movies and whether you have seen them, and who wore which outfit etc. The staff are fun and don't look down their nose at you for stargazing. They even have a list of all KC's movies with dates and directors behind the bar, in case you get stuck with your own film trivia knowledge.
We went there twice and sat at the bar and were served by a really friendly bartender lady both times. She was chatty but professional and served a mean Cherry Sprite! The second time we had a lunchtime burger (again at the bar); very tasty burger, nice seasoned fries.
Fun place, a bit touristy, but would definitely go back.

Ok, we knew going in that SD was going to be the land of burgers and fried, fried and more fried food. We love our burgers and fried food but not every night. When I saw Cobb Salad on the menu I ordered it. Come on----iceberg lettuce, turkey lunchmeat, etc. I've seen better at the local convenience store. Hubby's meal tasted like it came out of the freezer bag (bland) and was warmed up. Was it edible? Yes, but for the price one expects better. Server was friendly and efficient.

Forget Costner, just enjoy a nice lunch in Deadwood. Signage on street dosen't mention ownership of place but once your in you will see it
