“Beautiful Hotel and nice Casino”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

We stayed here for 3 nights. Service was 5 star. Food was very good. We also enjoyed the casino. My only complaint was the room temp could not be controlled. It was warm at night. I would stay here again! They are adding a spa. Enjoy!

“Would not eat here”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

Poor service and food. Did not even find the food edible. Even the coffee tasted bad. Would not considered eatting here again. Tried the food the first time when they first opened. Thought would try one last time to see if there was an improvement. Sad to say there wasn't

“Tour guide”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

The event center was closed but Jerry Smith gave us a tour of everything. Wow! What a tour guide and really friendly fellow. He was a walking history book about the city of Deadwood, gold mining etc. Jerry told us all about what the building was originally, how it was built, and how it has been preserved. He was so much fun and interesting! Good man, keep him!!

“distracting venue”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

So proud of the Deadwood Grand for bringing in such headliners as Grammy award winner, Keb Mo'-thank you for that.
So sad to be attending the third concert in the Grand and, every time, be sooo disappointed with the poor (sometimes nonfunctioning) sound system compounded by the noise of the bars off to the side of the concert stage. The sound carries so well from those bars that conversations can be heard from the seats in front of the stage! Granted, some of the din is caused by rude, loud, over-imbibed concert-goers, but, the bottom line is...this is a poor design and totally distracting. It is embarrassing, as a local, to see Keb Mo' look toward the bars during especially noisy moments while trying to perform or have the fiddle player look to the sound board controllers in awe that his connection did not work. Consider: closing the bars during performances especially if it is a comic or low-low key style of music ie. Keb Mo' OR somehow enclose those bars. Definitely work on the sound system.
