You won't believe the fun this tour generates because of the narrator, driver, funnyman, and location. Dave, is all of these things and should be on stage in Las Vegas, where he is a lot funnier than most of the comedians there!! Truly, Dave made what would have been an ordinary tour, in an amazing place, into something we'll always remember! The tour itself traces the history of one of the most colorful places in the America folklore of the West. Dave goes beyond that and makes it an unforgettable experience. 10 STARS to Dave and this tour!!

We took this $10 tour after reading TA reviews and were not disappointed. We had dave as our driver who lived up to his reputation of delivering history in a fun format. And there is no doubt Dave knows his history as he answered in detail many questions not on his script. We got a good overview of the town and all the buildings and their history in a short time. The cemetery stop saved us the walk up the hill. Dave allowed us to be dropped off near the Adam's House saving us a walk back that way. Highly recommended.

We went on this tour after reading the excellent reviews here and they were right. Randy was our tour guide and was a joke a minute. We got a great one hour tour giving us the history of Deadwood and a tour of the cemetery in very light, fun way. We enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend you give it a try. While waiting for the tour, you can gamble in Kevin Costner's casino, the Midnight Star. I'm guessing this is Kevin's "insurance" in case he has another Water World! lol

We really enjoyed this tour of Deadwood mostly because the bus driver, Dave, was hilarious! He did a great job of driving and giving information about all of the things we were seeing with great humor. For $10 this tour is well worth it.

This was my niece Kate's favorite attraction on our road trip, especially the visit to Wild Bill Hickcock and Calamity Jane's gravesites at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. When we asked at The Lodge which tour was the best to take, the girl told us they were both about the same. She couldn't have been more wrong, as this one was great. Let's face it, a tour is only as good as its tour guide and our bus driver Dave, was hysterically funny, with a ton of jokes and dry wit. We walked up to the bus to see the 11:30 am bus pulling away. The lady collecting the money told us to hurry and get on it and we could pay her later. This tour was very informative and entertaining, giving you the past and present of Deadwood in an hour tour. The highlight was stopping at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, aka "Boot Hill", where Calamity Jane got to spend eternity next to Wild Bill, despite his objections. A lot of people leave coins, cards, flowers and little bottles of Jack Daniels at Wild Bill's grave for luck, which Dave points out is confusing since Wild Bill got shot in the back of the head during a poker game. We drove to Mt. Moriah Lookout, with great views of Deadwood, saw a gold mine which still has gold, saw the Saloon where Wild Bill was shot by Jack McCall, the courthouse where they hung outlaws and learned that Deadwood was so named because of the dead branches found in the town when people first arrived- the result of a flood. This is a Must Do if you go to Deadwood and totally worth the $10. The bus picks up in front of Kevin Costner's Midnight Star saloon, 677 Historic Main Street. The tour runs four times a day, from May to mid-October.
