“Fun stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2014

What a fun hotel! The staff was friendly, attentive and extremely helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. A small casino was just right for a little entertainment. Our family had two meals in the restaurant and they were both fantastic! (And this family is picky about food!). The hotel was nicely located within walking distance of downtown Deadwood, and parking was free. We would highly recommend this hotel to our friends!

Stayed here one night with teenage boys. Double queen room was larger than Hamptons Inn and rate was very competitive. We did have difficulty with storage rack on top of truck, so if you have extended height vehicle them I would call ahead to make arrangements. Clean, modern and friendly staff.

We stayed in Deadwood for 5 days at the Deadwood Mountain Grand Hotel. All staff were very personable and helpful. The rooms were fantastic - clean, beds were comfortable, had a charging station for all of our electronic devices. The shower was amazing, huge, great heat and water pressure. Did I mention clean? Yes this place is amazingly clean. The food in the restaurant is reasonably priced and consistently good. Very reasonably priced. There was an Engleburt Humperdinck concert on Friday night and you couldn't tell any type of event was taking place while in our room. We aren't real big gamblers so we only spent a little while down in the casino. The lady at the espresso bar was fabulous! The town of Deadwood is great and centrally located to go and visit Rushmore, devil's tower and of course the badlands. We loved it here and would recommend it to any of our friends and family.

We just got back from our first-ever visit to Deadwood, and we were so happy we chose to stay at the Deadwood Mountain Grand. It is centrally located with free parking, so enjoying historic downtown was a snap. The staff was very friendly, and the room was beautiful and super clean. The hotel is built on the side of a mountain, so some rooms have balconies and views of the city while others have windows that are right next to the mountain, which means no view. This is not information the hotel keeps from you when you book your reservation, so be sure to select the option you want (view rooms were a few dollars more at the time we stayed). They were very kid-friendly without catering to families, so adult only groups should also feel comfortable about staying here.

One thing we really liked about it is that the casino area (including events center, bars and restaurants) was in a restored historical building that used to be part of the Homestake mining operations. That gave it a very unique, funky feel that you don't often get in a hotel experience. It also contributed to the whole historical atmosphere that is Deadwood.

We highly recommend this hotel.

We visited the Deadwood Mountain Grand just before Memorial Day and found snow to be present on the adjoining hills from a late Mother's Day snow. Once inside, we were impressed with the decidedly upscale nature of the hotel. The rooms were spacious and the beds were super comfortable. The huge, nicely appointed shower was most appreciated. On our two night stay, we ate in the hotel's main restaurant three times. The restaurant serves mostly steaks and Italian fare. All meals were delicious. We also appreciated that the casino was non-smoking. Don't forget to check out the enclosed rooftop pool.

Finally, everyone was super friendly including the hotel staff and the waitstaff. We are already planning a return visit next year. It is clear that the hotel , while having realistic prices, nevertheless prides itself on being an exceptional property. There is great value here and all but the most picky traveler will be most pleased with this hotel and casino.

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor and found the rooms to be very quiet.

We stay at the Grand quite often. It is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay and the people that work in the hotel, lounge, spa, restaurant and casino are great. We were there last weekend and caught a rock in the windshield of our car on the way in. I spent the entire next morning on-line and on the phone trying to find someone to fix the crack in the glass. I was very frustrated at my lack of results and shared that with the hotel manager, Travis. He told me to give him 30 minutes and he would see what he could do. 15 minutes later the phone in our room rang and Travis told me a guy would be there the next morning and gave me his name and number. The next morning Tom from "The Crack Team" came and did a great job fixing the chip. I figure Travis saved me the $500.00 deductible on a new windshield by finding someone to fix it before it spread. I consider that to be far above and beyond the call and highly recommend the Deadwood Mountain Grand. It is a great place filled with great people.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great but if you want to hang out on a balcony and view the beautiful Black Hills...
