“Very nice place”
Reviewed August 2, 2013 via mobile

Good location, easy walk to downtown Deadwood. Staff ok. Very nice smoking room. Clean comfortable room. Good continental free breakfast. Casino very small. Only 2 table games open. Nice variety of slot machines. Buffet left a little to be desired. Would not recommend buffet.

This hotel is an older property and located in the Four Aces Casino. There is only one elevator to access rooms. At times - there can be a long wait to catch a car. Rooms are small and there are roads on the front and back sides of the hotel, so traffic noise can be a factor. There is free parking (which is at a premium in Deadwood) but it is across the street and about 1 block away from the hotel entrance. They offervalet service - for a fee- in the afternoon.

Hotel was maintained nicely. Breakfast was serviced in a small room on the 2nd floor - which is
accessed by pressing the 2R button on the elevator. It can fill up quickly with large families.

The Four Aces has a buffet which is convenient if you do not feel like walking into Deadwood
for a meal. We had spent 3-4 hours walking Deadwood. Unless you are there during a rodeo
or other major event, there is no need to spend more time in that little town. July 25, 2013.

Great facility, nice and clean but clearly was not family friendly. Too many smokers around the doors and many strange people roaming the area for the casino. Only ever noticed one staff person behind the desk which was always backed up. Concerned about having to enter the casino to take the family to the diner. Felt like I had to hover over the kids while in the facility.

If you are driving to this location, be aware that it is very difficult to park near this hotel, and valet parking is only available on the weekends. Our room was clean but average. Breakfast was very good.

My dad and I stayed here on the way to visit his sister in WY. The food options are extremely limited after 10 PM so we went to Mustang Sally's just a couple of blocks down the street. After we ate we played some video blackjack at Sally's and we both did extremely well and had a great time. The hotel is very functional and located right downtown. Entryway to the rather small breakfast area was through the back of the elevator which was unusual. The food was fine, but we experienced very cramped quarters. The hotel has typical quality furnishings and so we would stay again at this hotel if we were to pass through again. Mike

I try to stay at Hampton Inns when I can due to their consistency and points program. I had business in the Deadwood area and being tourist season accommodations within per diem are difficult to find in the Black Hills. This property lived up to the standard. There are a couple quirks compared to a typical Hampton; because Deadwood has so little usable land being at the bottom of a valley there isn't much room for parking. Their lot is a narrow one across the street, perhaps difficult if you have a large vehicle, but there was always a spot available somewhere. With the casino on property the breakfast room was not in its usual space near the lobby, but on a different floor and a bit smaller than normal. It had the usual good breakfast items however. There are busy roads very close on both sides of the hotel, so traffic noise can be a minor problem at times. I would return.
