Slime Plant Lounge
Price range: $10 - $20
Cuisines: American, Pizza
Description: Why did we name our bar the Slime Plant Bar & Lounge? In a word, gold. In mining terminology, the liquid mix of gold ore and water is called slime. Back in 1906, the Deadwood Mountain Grand building was constructed as a plant to eke gold from the slippery slurry pumped from the Homestake Mine in Lead. For seven decades, locals called this Deadwood landmark "the Slime Plant." So with a tip of the glass to the mine workers of Deadwood's past, we named our bar the Slime Plant Bar & Lounge. With the comfortable, upscale surroundings, relaxed atmosphere and live entertainment at today’s Slime Plant Bar & Lounge, those miners wouldn't recognize their former workplace. So when you sit down for a cool drink at the Slime Plant Bar & Lounge, raise a glass to the hard-working guys who once made their living here.

This bar has such a fun atmosphere! From the bar menus, to the "slime" themed drinks and food, to the lounge acts, to Joey the bartender... everything is fun, fun, fun! We've even been lucky enough to have slime ball shots with Big Kenny! You never know what celebrities might pop up - we love this place!

Stopped and had lund at the new Deadwood Grand resturant-slime plant. Service was bad-took twenty minutes to get 3 beers and one mix drink, had to ask server twice for drinks. Ordered some pretty simple food-2 of us ordered meatball subs and one ordered cheese steak sub. Meatball subs had little to no sauce on them, and absolutely no flavor. The philly was interesting-meat covered only half of the bun, no peppers, onions or anything in it just meat, oh and cheese whiz? We all left half of our sandwiches and the server never even wondered or asked if we wanted a box. Prices are very reasonable, but for a new establishment they will quickly get bad reputation for poor food.
