Had a very good meal in this hideaway, located upstairs from the #10 Saloon.

Started with appetizer of Shrimp wrapped around an Italian sausage slice - nice flavor mixing. Had a Pasta dish was made perfectly. We went in middle of week, and service was pretty good. We were surprised after having a few other disappointing meals in town. This place is a notch or two above.

The food is expensive, somewhat toward the gourmet side, but not quite "gourmet." We had to eat in the bar area which took away from any ambience. Maybe another table elsewhere would have made a difference.

'Was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. First off, the food were great! We had a Wild boar popper and a soup, a pheasant dish and a filet mignon, all great, the soup and sauce on the pheasant was a little too rich for my taste, but flavorful. They have a good wine list, and their mixed drinks are reasonably priced. We ate on the patio (nice and relaxing atmosphere) and it had a view of the streets of downtown Deadwood. The employees were all nice and friendly. When we went up, we thought they might be closing (and they were) but they made us feel they wanted us there. Our waitress (bless her soul) looked tired and exhausted, but still gave us a wonderful service.

The salon on the first floor was a very happening place. They had a band performing and people dancing. The bar area was crowded and seemed like people were having a great time. Lots of gentlemen with cowboy hats- that's different to me, so I found it interesting. I think this is the place to be in Deadwood.

We've tried many of Deadwood's restaurants. Pretty much, average. A few are a bit above, a few are a bit below. This one was a cut above.

Firstly, the menu was unique. Italian. Steakhouse. And they did both well. The table was split between the two styles and all parties raved about their meal.

Steaks were high quality and correctly cooked. A plus. Italian was freshly prepared and authentic. Another plus. Wine menu was HUGE with a variety of prices. Guaranteed that you'll find a wine and a meal that'll make you happy.

Salads were small but quality. The soup of the day--tomato basil--had a bite that was nearly too much for my spouse. Allow me to note that it was finished.

Deserts! So often, I'll suggest you skip the desert--most restaurants overcharge on the desert and skimp on the quality or at least the quantity. Not so, here. Just to clarify--GET THE DESERT!

Limited selection. Cheesecake. In numerous flavors. Some of which, according to the table, were excellent. I assume the rest were just as good. But--the server pretty much ignored the tiramisu. Don't make that mistake! This was the second-best tiramisu I've eaten, and well worth the price. A perfect end to a wonderful dinner.

The server was also well above average--friendly, likeable, knowledgeable and honest. He traded one member of the party down on a steak--the more expensive cuts had been "gristly" this week. The steak she ordered was perfect and she walked out very happy.

This restaurant doesn't have the originality or presentation to consider it "five star." The service was excellent but too casual for "five star.". On the other hand, that almost makes it better. A surprisingly fine meal at a very reasonable cost in an otherwise average town.

We arrvied early--about 5--and were immediately shown to a table. It appeared they had tables available most of the time we were there. But--you might wish to make a reservation. Rest assured--people will find this one!
