“Fun little mine tour”
Reviewed August 17, 2014

The Broken Boot Mine is not very big, but the tour guide did a good job and for the low cost, it was a worthwhile stop.

“Interesting time killer”
Reviewed August 13, 2014 via mobile

Kids liked the tour and was interesting. The gold panning at the end was fun for the kids as they all get a little gold.

“A real eye opener!”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

Ever been on a real gold mine tour? I have, and they are all the same, BUT this tour was special. The guide was charismatic and knew his stuff. Leave your cell phone in the car and try this mine tour ... and make sure you get them to turn off the lights when you are deep in the cave!

“More of a kiddy activity than a historical site.”
Reviewed August 4, 2014

The mine operating briefly in the early 1900s. It was reopened recently as a tourist attraction. Our guide did a good job of explaining how the miners worked and how the mine survived by selling mostly iron pyrite versus gold. There were a number of small children on my tour who seemed to enjoy it and made the tour more interesting for me. The mine is a long walk from town with the last 100 yards on a highway shoulder versus sidewalk. Adults might walk there, but small children should not.

“Striking a bit of Gold”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

Tanner was the real treasure of this mine. We had time to spare before our trail ride and we stopped her so the boys could see and learn about mining for gold as well as to pan for gold (which was a must for them). Tanner not only gave us a great history lesson, he did an amazing job helping the boys find their gold. So glad we stopped here instead of a bigger operation.
