“Clean, decent economical place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012

Stayed during the Deadwood Jam. Clean, no frills place to stay. Like the fact of no caked dirt in the corners or paint slopped on fixtures and towel racks. Details like this tell a lot. Yes, the carpet and bedspreads and light fixtures are dated. If the room and bedding is clean and the bed is comfortable and the price is right, it works for me. Stayed at more frills hotel in downtown Deadwood during Kool Deadwood nights, paying twice and much and the bed left much to be desired resulting in tossing and turning. Will stay here again and enjoyed the four block walk to downtown Deadwood and the more quiet end of Main street.

This place was a dump. This is the first time the reviews I've read in TripAdvisor failed me. The room had 2 beds - both were sagging and lumpy; I could feel the springs! It was old, ratty, with terrible lighting and no deadbolt on the door. In fact, the doors weren't self locking. Needless to say, no internet or cable TV. I've reviewed dozens of places on TA and seldom given less than a 4, but I would never stay here again or advise anyone else to. Stay in Lead or Sturgis if the other places in Deadwood are too expensive.

Room Tip: If you do stay here in spite of my review, ask to see the room and check the beds and keep checking...

We have stayed here a few times. The rooms are incredibly basic but a nice clean spot to sleep. Second floor rooms have a balcony you can sit out on. About a four block walk to dowtown Deadwood but the lication us fairly quiet because of that. We will stay again.

This hotel was amazingly clean, from the office to the room. If you are looking for just a bed then you have found it, there is little more than that. If you decide that this is the place for you bring an alarm clock. The beds were very comfortable but they only had rooms with 1 twin and 1 single. There is a little bit of a walk to get into down town Deadwood but the view is great while you stroll into and out of town. The restaurant's food cannot be beat, it was just what we were looking for after a long night of donating our money to the city of Deadwood. My wife and I had an amazing time in Deadwood and will defiantly stay at this hotel again.

First the good stuff. The room was clean and a pretty good location, quiet other than the highway right next to the room. The little casino there paid off pretty good for just a small casino and the breakfast was really good and the people running it was extremly nice. Locals came to eat there so I guess that says a lot. Now the bad stuff. I asked before we checked in if they had high speed internet, he said yes. When I tried to hook up tho, I had no connection. I called the front desk and he told me sometimes you have to go out side to get connected... I went out the front door and did get a poor connection I supose off of someone elses highspeed. The room we got had one bed, which was very comfortable but small. The room overall was very small and not much room. Other than that it was a nice little place and we would stay there again.
