The resort's pet rooms have two double beds only, no kings. Room were simple, but clean. No frig or microwave. Room was just a few steps away from the main attraction - the casino. Excellent hot breakfast with complimentary selected items only. Excellent areas to exercise dog. Would definitely stay again.

I made reservations for my parents, my 4 siblings and spouses, and my husband and myself to celebrate our parent's 61st wedding anniversary. Alice was ever so helpful in placing the reservations and Gwen gave us a discount. The rooms were very nice, clean, and some of us really enjoyed the babbling brook out our window. It was so handy having a restaurant on the property with excellent food and portions. We received complimentary breakfasts all three mornings. The casino offered 1 blackjack table and machines, which pleased our group. It was nice to have the trolley come to the front door to take us downtown for $1 each. I would highly recommend this property.

Good for families. Everywhere you go in Deadwood is gambling (and the this property also has a small casino) but it is secondary to family atmosphere. Great continental breakfast.

Had a really good time. The hotel is very clean the staff there is so nice and friendly. The rooms are nice and clean, soft beds I slept really well!!! The food there is not so bad I think people just like to talk bad about anything!!! When you go get food you have a card that takes so much money off the bill so stop griping about the food!!! I think people want things for free so If you don't like the place go somewhere else or stay at home!!! Anyways had a good time and so will you!!

We took a bus tour trip that we booked through the hotel. It was reasonably priced that included transportation and hotel. The hotel was much nicer than I expected. The hotel rooms were really clean & the beds were comfortable. Outside our window we saw & heard a little creek running. It was pretty. The casino was decent sized. However, it was heavily filled with smoke like every other casino in Deadwood. The staff was extremely nice. Stay away from the restaurant. The food was horrible. There is a trolly that runs all day/night that picks you up in front of the hotel and takes you downtown. It only takes a few minutes & costs $1 per ride. I would recommend the Buffets at the Silverado or the Gold Dust. Both of them were terrific. Overall, had a great time there & would stay in this hotel again even though it is pretty far off the main strip.

Just spent a long weekend at the Gulch which our group has the opportunity to do every other year or so. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Some improvements have been made to the main bar and to the motel hallways since our last stay. Casino is always extremely smoke filled and the odor permeates your clothing and hair. Smoke odors also are pulled into the non-smoking wing of the motel which merely has a door to separate this wing from the rest of the "ash tray" atmosphere of the resort. Had several meals at the restaraunt and the food was adequate but not great. The menu leads you to believe you should expect a fine dining experience but the food is "truck stop" level in quality. Highlight of the meals was the bread that is served with your meal. Meals were moderate in price which made the experience acceptable. Location of the motel is not so convenient on the end of town but with the trolley schedule you can get to the main attractions downtown in less than 15 minutes if you get on the trolley headed in the right direction.

Our group will probably end up there again in the future but it won't be due to my vote.

We decided we would stop over for a full day in Deadwood having seen reports of the old west and for us coming from the UK we thought this would be different and it was.The local tourist information office found this accomodation for us and we found it very good. The tram tour round Deadwood was well worth the time, going all round the town and up to Boot Hill cemetary. We went to the hotel just after 2 pm for a rest and had a lunch in there inside dining area, service was slow but the food was good if a bit pricey. We went back into town for the evening on the local trolley bus and went to see the shootout and caught the trolley back to the hotel. Breakfast the next morning was a long wait with lots of people queuing for a long time, They didn't have enough staff to cope. The food was really quite good but again expensive.
