They specialize in sandwiches and soup and hot dogs. Many locals eat here, but it's nothing special. Prices are good. It's on the main drag through town.

“Great lunch spot, mmmm mmmm”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

Cool little spot in downtown Winnsboro. I liked that not all of the furnishings matched (mismatched tables, chairs, etc). Gave it a feel of being in a friend's eclectic house for lunch.

Anyway, on to what's important ... the food! I ordered the Troublemaker sandwich, and my friend ordered the grilled ham and cheese. Both were perfection. Prices were very reasonable.

It's worth a visit, but be warned: we asked about their hours of operation (were considering coming back later for dinner, based on a dessert item that we heard the server describing to another table), and it seems that Hoot's is open 11am-2pm Monday - Friday. Call ahead to see if that's still the case.

“A bit of slendor in a tiny S.C. town”
Reviewed June 27, 2011

My wife and I visit Winnsboro S.C. frequently on our trips between Reading, Pa and Pompano Beach, Fl. It is our 1/2 way point of the trip.
Hoots is a delightful luncheonette hidden amoung the shops lining South Congress St. Luanne the owner and her son cook up many breakfast and lunch delights to please your palate. Our next trip south in October (2011) will be our 6th year visiting our dear friends at Hoots. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is typically southern and the hospitality is the finest anywhere. You won't be sorry.
