Once again, we were driving across South Carolina and took a lunch break in the Columbia area. This time we chose Maurice’s Piggy Park off the interstate in Irmo. This was not our first visit but it was the best. First, the restaurant is easily accessible from I-26. Second, it has a very appealing brick barn style and, third, the food was great. You order from a counter and get your own drinks then the meal is brought to your table. We each had a Little Joe plate which featured a pulled-pork sandwich, fries, slaw and a couple of wonderful hush puppies. Gin added a side of the best fried okra we have had in a long while. The meat was excellent and there was a variety soft sauce options, although the mustard based is the favorite here. Our food was great. Also, the service was fast and friendly. We will stop at Piggy Park again.
