We loved our visit here. The old trolley tour was fascinating and the free samples were enjoyed by all. My daughter just made a pot of peach tea - her personal favorite.

“Unique and interesting”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

The Charleston Tea Plantation is the only tea growing place in North America. Tea lovers will enjoy getting a first hand look at what tea plants look like and how tea is harvested and made. The Plantation has a trolley ride that takes you through the place and explains the making of tea. There is a visitor center where you can tour the factory and see how the tea leaves are processed and finally made into tea. The gift shop is a lot of fun - neat souvenirs related to tea of course as well as the Charleston area.

“who knew they grew tea in Charleston???”
Reviewed December 13, 2011

what a fun thing to do while in the area... little tour and video, gift shop, sampling tea, lovely grounds - people were so friendly and welcoming. Owned and operated by Bigelow, this was a very nice way to spend the day. The ride over to Wadmalaw Island from Mt. Pleasant took some time but worth it. For a tea lover like me this place was great.
