“Great tour - very interesting”
Reviewed November 14, 2011

We took the trolly tour of the grounds first. Our tour guide was great, and the plantation was beautiful. We went during the off season, so there was no tea in production, but it was still really neat to hear about the process and see the plantation. Once the trolly tour was over, we took the tour of the factory. Again, no production was going on, but the video's showed everything. I would love to go back again during the harvesting season to see the plantation in full swing. Well worth the money and the drive to get there. I'm not a tea drinker myself, but my dad and boyfriend loved sampling the teas.

“Wonderful, Relaxing, Informative Tour!”
Reviewed November 5, 2011

Highly recommend this when visiting the Charleston Area. It's the only Tea Plantation in the USA. The guide was entertaining and informative and we never once were bored. Learned a lot of things and sampled and took home some wonderful tea and mugs. Quite reasonable admission fee. You won't be disappointed!

“Great experience”
Reviewed October 29, 2011

I went in the winter, when the tea is not being harvested or processed, but was educated in the history of tea growing in SC. The drive out to Wadmalaw Island is worth the trip. You are able to visit the processing plant, and take a bus tour thru the fields where the tea is growing. Everyone on staff is quite knowledgeable about tea, and how it was started in SC. If you want to see the harvesting and processing, go in May. Call ahead and see when they are in full swing. The actual plant is free to visit and tour, but there is a nominal charge for the bus tour. It is well worth the money.

“Nice Stop, Especially if you are a Tea Lover!”
Reviewed October 19, 2011

This planation is worth the trip. I'm a tea lover and really learned a lot. It's hard to believe it is the only Tea Planation in America. Relax with your cup of tea in the Trolley while you tour the grounds, then walk through the short tour of the factory. Cute gift area with some unique tea items.

Reviewed October 19, 2011

The only tea plantation in North America was VERY interesting. We learned a lot from the narrated factory tour and the guided tour of the grounds. The guides were knowledgeable and entertaining. The gift shop offerred a good selection of their products. A worthwhile visit!
