Owner description: Firefly Distillery is South Carolina's first and largest distillery. Firefly Distillery is home to Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka, the original sweet tea vodka, and many more southern specialties. Current product lines include vodkas, rums, bourbon, liqueurs, and moonshines. Guests are welcome Tue-Sat 11am-5pm for tastings, closed January. Feel free to bring your own lunch and have a picnic on our grounds, perhaps after enjoying a wine tasting from Irvin~House Vineyards which is located on the same property. Every Saturday the distillery hosts Sippin' Saturdays with live music and tasty local food for sale. Come taste the South and enjoy a casual laid back atmosphere!

We have visited Firefly twice now, with this last time being for the "Blessing of the Vines" Festival. What a great day! A band playing music, great food vendors (including steamed oysters and fresh doughnuts), as well as other vendors, and of course the vodka and wine! The small fee for the tastings included your Firefly shot glass of wine glass. I highly recommend the banana pudding vodka. Wonderful atmosphere under the trees and spanish moss, great friends and just an all around great day!

About 45 minutes outside of Charleston and such a great drive - you can't afford to miss this attraction. There are two buildings - one for tasting "spirits" and the other for tasting wine. Both are fun and well worth the small fee. We did both! The staff was knowledgable and fun! If you have children they will have plenty to do as there are rabbits and other animals on the premises. It would be a great place to take a picnic lunch on a pretty afternoon. There is even a nice gift shop with many different items. And of course you can buy wine or have it shipped! It was great fun!

We had toured the Kentucky Bourbon Trail on this trip and looked forward to seeing how the Firefly vodka is made. Unfortunately, for the long, out of the way drive there is no tour that we found. One building is named the distillery but there is just an old non-working still there. You can drink all the Firefly Vodka you like for $6 but we really weren't there to do only that. The grounds are somewhat interesting and there are some farm animals walking about but we found it a waste of time unless you really like this vodka and want to drink it by the shot.

This place is an adventure from start to finish. The entrance is camouflaged. Go slowly down the road. Entering the Firefly compound is like taking a step back in time. The tasting room exterior brings to mind the old moonshiners home. The tasting room itself is filled with friendly and knowledgable servers. For a small fee visitors can sample six of Firefly's finest. Purchases are limited to three bottles per person. Sweet Tea fans will find many varieties to choose. I recommend purchasing varieties that are not available for sale elsewhere (especially the Lemonade Vodka). Servers can direct you to the local liquor store where other varieties are for sale. A trip to Charleston would not be complete without a trip to Firefly country.

The staff were so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The grounds were very nice and I'm so proud of this local product. Obviously the tasting was great and I will be bringing more friends back!
