“Complements the Charleston Tea Plantation Tour”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

We visited after a tour of the Charleston Tea Plantation and lunch. The Firefly tasting was extensive but fast. Since we were the only customers there, the server was standing there waiting for us to finish, so we felt a bit rushed. It's maybe a little over-priced at $6/person. Then we walked over the Irwin House buildind for the wine tasting. That was more reasonably priced ($4/person) and included a short video about the owners, who seemed funny and nice. They also have some animals on the property. It's fine for a short visit, but since they don't serve food, I'm not sure there's a reason to linger.

“Fun tasting, but no vineyard tour”
Reviewed May 31, 2012

There is a fun little tasting room behind the gift shop where you can learn about the grapes they grow here and taste the wines (I think it was $4 for the tasting). Would not drive out here just for this, but it makes a nice day combined with the distillery and the tea plantation. No restaurant so bring picnic supplies as you drive in from Charleston. Don't miss the chickens and other farm animals near the parking lot!

“Have had better tours”

Friendly people at the tasting and "tour". Tour was a virtual tour - self produced.

“Fun place!”
Reviewed April 11, 2012

This place is a lot of fun! Irvin House Vineyards and Firefly Distillery are owned by the same family and on the same property - this is a must for wine and vodka lovers. You need to go on a Saturday for the tastings and entertainment. There is also an animal farm with these funny little chickens! I was able to do both the wine tasting (you get to keep your souvenir glass) and the liquor tastings (kept the shot glass too!) the sweet tea bourbon is soooooo good! If you're looking for something a little different to do while you're in the Charleston area you should check this place out.

“Waste of time”
Reviewed April 4, 2012

LOOONG drive for very disappointing experience. Once we saw the fermenting vats, we surely didnt' want to drink any of the wine. Very small operation, docent boring, product is awful in our books. Sorry.. just negatives all the way around
