“Exceptional, great food and attentive service”

Staff works very hard and likable. Cheese plate was one the best I've ever had. They were able to put our group is a very nice private room away from the main dining room. Outdoor space is amazing

“Foodies Alert!!”
Reviewed August 7, 2014 via mobile

So...since it's opening in November 2013, we have returned and returned and returned to R17 at Hotel Domestique MANY times. And...it truly just keeps getting better!! Chef Adam Cooke has an ever-changing menu, highlighted by special menus with themes: a number of regional offerings (Greece, France, Spain, etc.) and wine-paired three, four and five-course offerings in conjunction with Sommelier Catherine Walker have been inspired to say the least. The setting looking out at the mountains and sunsets us awesome. THIS rivals any NYC, SF, Chicago 5-star dining experience. Run....dine....enjoy!!

“A summer treat!”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

It has been nearly 9 months since we were last here. The prior experience was the 2nd evening they were open and still cutting their teeth. And yet, wildly successful. Chef Adam Cooke set the bar high.

Today! Epicly refined and exquisite! The bar options thoroughly expanded. And the pool scenery has subsequently improved as well.

The enjoyment of the Wagyu Hangar Steak is understated. Wagyu is full of flavor to start, but the hangar cut was fork tender. Served with what appeared to be "ginormous" flakes of salt scraped gently over the steak in small specs.

This particular piece of cow was accompanied by a sungold & cherry tomatoes, onions, and medium flavored peppers with a drizzle of a chichurri / pesto style sauce.

An excellent mix of well thought out flavors for a warm summers day!

“The Best Ever”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

We arrived to the Restaurant 17 on a cloudy day but through the mountains, it was absolutely breathtaking. We were greeted by the hostess and immediately were seated, even though they were busy. The cocktail menu was immense with a cornucopia of fresh craft ingredients including their own tonic and sour mix. The wine list was well put together and had a perfect meld of affordable varietals as well as some top end wines of those with a special occasion. The service was top notch. We never had to wait on a course and the server, Robert, was full of useful information about the food and the hotel. Oh the food. Chef Adam Cook has got to be the most brilliant of chefs and I can't believe that we have him in the upstate. The hanger steak and the pork belly were superb. They had a rice pudding for dessert which was to die for! A perfect evening. Thank you so much for the evening. We'll be back.
