“Yep. 25 Cent Wings Alright”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

Yep they sure do have. 25 cent wings on Wednesdays just like their billboards along the road say but the billboard doesn't tell you that you must buy two drinks for every 10 wings. They tell you that when you are ready to order. Misleading. Bring back Cooters and forget Borgata unless you are really thirsty.

“An eclectic spot for the discerning renaissance man or lady that gets it”
Reviewed February 21, 2012

Brand new party deck out back with lots of non-obtrusive renovations ongoing. Friese is gone, but food is back on Mondays with local chefs fare buffets with live music. Great prices. Right now this is a funky happy hour and Monday night dinner club. After hours are never the same always something different in the David Lychesque palace of southern charm and that is uniquely amazing on a mullet wearing riviera of non-intelligentsia. There is no other place in the Grand Strand like this. Rarely the same crowds except for the few rebel geniuses with something to say that ever haunt with their wisdom and stories. Are you one? This is a place for the original with style, wit and grace. Do you have what it requires? PBR drinkers are out of place and won't get it. You must have lived life to the fullest to saddle up for this carpet ride.

“Go for fun...not food”
Reviewed February 11, 2012

We went to The Borgata last week with some friends with the understanding it was a restaurant...it's not! Maybe a pub at best. The menu consists of burgers, cheesesteaks, and a few fried baskets....We sucked it up and ordered anyway and had a few beers..all in all we had fun, but the food isn't anything to write home about...I had a burger that was a overcooked frozen patty..a few people had cheesesteaks that they said were ok. On the upside, beer was cold and delicious...and upstairs there is a martini bar with a dj and pool table..So, go for fun, not food!

“Watered down vodka”
Reviewed January 28, 2012

I am a big martini drinker, and I ordered a Ketel One Martini straight up with just a drop of vermouth. It was soooo watered down, it hardly even tasted like vodka. Very disappointed:(

“Unbelievable Southern bluesy local cool, a magnificent respite in an Armaghetto economy”
Reviewed May 12, 2011

Chief Friese is eight generations in SC and knows the culture and food. His food will blow you away thumping your palate willfully as any Les Claypool bass line. The Borgata has many a trippy educated younger to middle crowd patrons though canes and walkers welcome if you have a great story. Tired of lousy wings that haunt your gastro? Try the Friesemeister's Orange wings in gorgonzola with a side of shrimp and creamy low country grits Rhett Butler be proud. Best mac and cheese around with morel mushrooms not even found in Naples FL. Come on down and wear your shades in the properly dimmed pub with intelligent paradigm busting cuisine. I dare you.
