“Good Southern Style Seafood”
Reviewed May 11, 2013 via mobile

Good food & drinks! Very friendly staff! Good for families. You can have your fish grilled, blackened or fried. Excellent hush puppies like my moms (from Alabama).

Visiting from California! :)

“Good Calamari & Fried Green Tomatoes”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

Great fried calamari - paired with a delicious jalapeno jelly that's made in house! Fried Green Tomatoes were also a delicious appetizer. My spouse and I shared an assorted seafood platter and everything was good except for the clam strips. Those were a joke. . . more like clam niblets! Service was just okay.

“Southern Seafood”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

This is a great home southern cooking restaurant, and if you are looking for great fried catfish, hushpuppies and fried pickles. This is the place to go.
If you’re just finishing up your palates and heading off to Yoga, but want to grab some lettuce wraps or tofu, you might want to take a pass on this one. If you miss that good ole fish fry like you used to have when you didn’t know what cholesterol was, or if you just want a treat just pull over.
The atmosphere is “popping”, there was a line out of the door this spring break when we ate there, but nobody minded the wait. We were greet by a southern accent and paper menu before we were seated at a small table right by the door. The tables were a little tight, but it was an interested seaside / southern décor.
Once seated, they waited on us quickly and bought out the food both hot quick. I have the fried catfish, which was tasty, and my wife and a sandwich. My daughter had ribs in BBQ sauce, which she loved and had to share with her sister. Unfortunately, the seven year old couldn’t fish the kids meal either. So we can say that the catfish, ribs and shrimp are all good and given in good portion even in the baskets.
T-shirts: Apparently, the main reason we ate here is because kids thought that the T-shirts were “cool”. There was a coupon for 2 for 1 T-shirts feature the “cute” dog with a fish in his mouth. The kids loved it.
Altogether, the place is visually unique with the décor and the dog out front. The service is good and the food is home cooking fish fry. You may find yourself waiting for a table but the food will not disappoint. I would eat here again.

“So-So”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

The only really positive thing that I could say is that both my fiance and I had the fried pickles and fried catfish, and both was excellent. The fish very tender and breaded perfectly. But, be aware that most everything on the menu is just that- fried- and both of us felt like it was a little too much for us. I dont' know if that can be blamed on the restaurant... take it as you will. Everything else was just average. Our server was not particularly friendly, and seemed more intent on interacting with the regulars (or her friends?) who were visiting rather than us first-timers. She seemed annoyed, for example, when we asked for her recommendation on the menu. The bill was fair, not too high but certainly not a steal. Eh. We won't go back.

“Looking for good seafood dinner”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

The service was adequate. Fried seafood is promo ate. Quantity was good. Overall, the quality was fair. Some os the fish had a fishy taste.

Not bad for a tourist restuarant.

On our next night out we will try a different restuarant.
