The park is lovely and if you are in Sumter, I recommend you take the time to walk through the park. The swans are gorgeous.

Great place to walk around and enjoy the birds. Nice grassy area for the kids to play and picnic (there are picnic tables in that area as well). Playground that the kids love to play on and if you walk to the other side of the park there is a nice gazebo and other areas that are great for family photos. Iris festival is a must!

It's hard to believe South Carolina still has so many hidden secrets. I'm here to reveal these hidden treasure once and for all. I want you to enjoy all the South Carolina has to offer in its fullest. If you take U. S. route 378 to Sumter you'll find nestled in on Liberty Street Swan Lake. You will see the beautiful black waters of Swan Lake. In early spring they have a full array of Iris's for eyes to see. All eight swan species. My family and I went in May 2013 and it was a treat I had no idea this was there. The wet marsh was a treat to see with the talk trees that reached into the sky. There were several turtles and ducks out enjoying a nice swim. I reminded me of a movie scene with the wet marsh as you walked along a wooded trail. They had a playground for small kids to play. It was a wonderful sight to see. When coming to visit to South Carolina please place this as one of your things to do.
Sandy
