“Fabulous local food!”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Happy to have found a restaurant that serves locally sourced food and is creatively prepared. Surprisingly generous portions compared to similar restaurants within that price range. I sat at the bar where the bar tender was very friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to go to if you live there or are just visiting.

“A gem in a small town”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

Upscale for small town Sumter...superb service, limited but interesting menu, not over-priced for the meal...five of us had duck, two different beef, and fish, plus appetizer/soup/salad and desserts....drinks and wine...there just wasn't a thing I found wanting. Wouldn't call it perfect (they offered us their house-made Coconut Creme Pie and then didn't have any left!), but I'd return in a heartbeat. Attentive, knowledgeable waitress....nice place.

“Hometown Gourmet”
Reviewed January 9, 2013 via mobile

Been frequenting this fine establishment for nearly 2 years after living in Sumter for around 6. I have always heard great reports, I wish I had come sooner as neither I nor any of my family has ever been disappointed in any way. The staff presents a truly professional and courteous image accompanied with a culinary knowledge and expertise you do not find many places these days. The caliber of the fine dining experience is surely exemplified by their attention to detail and preparing each dish with much respect to the art that it represents. Lunch is perfect and reasonably priced, that's what will hook you for dinner and you won't regret it. Make sure to leave room for desert, as everything is made fresh, from scratch, on site and always has a special twist to behold. The GEM of Sumter's culinary offerings.

“not just for lunch”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

I've been to and enjoyed lunch here several times, but this was my first dinner experience. This is not only the best restaurant in Sumter, but the best for some distance around. We were a table of six for starter, dinner, wine and dessert. One guest said "I'm a picky eater and can usually find something to remark about"...BUT he was speechless. Every dish was perfect. The staff was amazing (not a trivial thing in this good-restaurant desert), competent and very friendly calling us by name and making us feel that we were family, not guests. They even split the shared desserts onto two plates without being asked. When we arrived there was our table of six and two other tables of 18 and 20. There was not a single gap in service, and every plate arrived hot, perfect, and to the right person at the same time. WOW!

“Monthly Lunch Group finds another gem”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

Our monthly lunch group travels all over the state of SC for lunch once a month. We visited Hamptons and thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. Some of us got there early and they welcomed us in even though they were not yet open. We had the greatest cup of coffee and the smells from their bakery (bread, pastries and cakes) almost talked us into forgetting about lunch, but watching the Chef prepare in their open kitchen changed our minds.
