“Southern BBQ in Summerville”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

Our vacation home is in Bonneau, SC. Over the last few years we've seen Moose's going through several revisions finally ending up in Summerville, SC. We've enjoyed the food so much we continue to search them out. It seems over the last 6-12 months they have settled on a better, more consistent business model. Good news for anyone wanting to enjoy some good southern BBQ. Styrofoam plates and cups are part of the all-you-can-eat charm. The food is fantastic. The brisket is out of this world. It competes with some great Calabash style fried chicken tenders, catfish, pulled pork, slow cooked pork and a nice selection of sides. The fresh biscuits and sweet potato bake compete with the pudding and warm peach cobbler for dessert. Great meal - remember to check their hours of business.

“One of the best BBQ Joints I Have Ever Tried”
Reviewed February 24, 2014

On our first day in Summerville, SC our relatives told us about Moose's. We tried going but I believe they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We eventually went back on a Friday. This place is not a place you dress up to go to. You can dress really really casual. It is an all you can eat buffet. The Mac & Cheese, the brisket, the chicken, the sweet tea, the list goes on and on is INCREDIBLE. I remember mentioning to some of the folks in our party that I hope this place stays open. The food is great, the people that work there are super friendly. Totally worth your time.

“BBQ buffet with a side of hospitality”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

Taken here by a business associate for a quick bite. Go in; go out; go back to work. Well once we got in there it was hard to leave. There is more high quality BBQ on their buffett than a normal person could possibly want. The owner himself took me on a tasting tour down the buffett line. All of the food was made there, and made RIGHT. You can really tell that this man takes pride in what he does. Brisket, sausage, pulled pork, frogmore stew (kind of like brunswick stew but chunkier), hash (like ground up brunswick/frogmore stew) over rice, smoked pork loin, smoked chicken, catfish fillets, etc. etc. etc.
They even had three different types of sauces with which to flavor the different types of BBQ. One of them was a lard and spice based sauce that the owner said has taken him 25 years to perfect. It has a touch of apple cider vinegar in it for a kick plus a good dose of hot peppers to let you know that you're alive.
And they've got the home made sides to compliment a great meal. Mac and cheese, greens, brocalli (sp?) casarole.
Place is great. People are warm and friendly and will talk to you about how they do what they do.
You really can experience the love and devotion that they put into their craft when dining here. I just wish I would have the opportunity to head back that way on business, but it might be 5 years or more before I darken their door..................SOOOOOOO Sad:(
