“Alessandra's fits the overall ambiance of Summerville”

It was our anniversary and we wanted something quite, relaxing and good. That's what we got. We started with calamari for which they are famous; they were perfect, hot an tender. My wife had shrinp fra diavlo and said it was excellent; I had gorgonzola stuffed raviolo, they were excellent and served with a delightful creamy sauce. We had an excellent bottle of chianti to wash it all down. The service was good and the piano player set the tone

“Very mixed bag”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

Weekday dinner food went from one extreme to another. The mussels appetizer were the worst I have ever been served. All but one mussel were well overcooked (most had fallen out of the shell) and the broth was tasteless. The salad served with the dinner was barely functional- they should make it optional and take a dollar or two off the bill if you don't want it. The main courses: the revili special was good not great, especially the mushroom and the spinach raviolis. Here is the other extreme- the penne ala vodka was some of the best I have ever had (this includes many of the better rated Italian restaurants in Charleston and New York. I would return only for this dish. Perhaps however this is really more of a pizza place as there were many tables just ordering the pies?

“Winner, Winner”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

We really enjoyed our dinner here. Food was wonderful and service was outstanding. This should be higher up in the rankings in Summerville. No reason some of the chains should be higher up. Again, quality is there. We will go back. Also, Tony plays a mean piano. I had chicken marsala and my wife had the shrimp diablo. Good choices.

“Should Be Ranked Higher on TripAdvisor-GREAT EATERY~”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

Why this restaurant is ranked #27 on TripAdvisor is beyond me! I live in Summerville and this is a really great restaurant. Nice ambience - piano player on the weekends, good food and exceptional service. You do not have to dress up but it is a nice place. Their eggplant parmesan is the best in the area. Real Italians own this place which may not mean anything to some people but in the south you can't count on authentic eateries like you can up north. Highly recommend. Reservations are not usually needed.
