“Good stop on long driving trip”
Reviewed May 25, 2014

I drove home from Florida with my dog in early January. This motel was pet friendly, had a good breakfast, and very importantly, travelling with the dog, had rooms with doors that opened right onto ground level. Lots of grass around the motel for dog walking. Very friendly staff. I would stay there again.

The front desk staff and everyone else employed at the Comfort Inn were a pleasure to deal with.
The hotel itself was quite good as was the breakfast.

The room was a bit dated but something most anyone would be satisfied with.
However the carpet in the room #142 was absolutely filthy. My wife and I had removed our shoes once we got settled in and walked around in our stocking feet. We both had on white socks and after just a few minutes we discovered the bottoms of the socks were black with dirt.
A glass of water spilled on the carpet and as we wiped up the towel used was just as black.

Room Tip: Check the room for cleanliness before staying.

The staff at this Comfort Inn rates 5 stars, including Reception, Housekeeping, and (especially!) Valerie at breakfast. We stayed on the ground floor, in the middle, away from Interstate 95 (Room 113). The band at Skynyrds Grill, across the parking lot, was playing outside when we arrived. They were pretty loud on this Sunday afternoon but stopped early. (In fact, we had dinner there--convenient, delicious and inexpensive.) In walking around the property, I would say it could use some serious cleaning and spiffing up. Otherwise, though, it was very comfortable. I can recommend the ground floor because you can back your car right up to the door of your room for easy loading and unloading. Otherwise, you'll be hauling your luggage up a flight of outside stairs The room had good bedding, including four pillows and a puffy white duvet. Excellent shower--good water pressure, nice hot water. For those of us with lots of electronic devices, we could have used more electrical outlets. And the toilet seat was worn and in need of replacement. We had a good night's sleep (couldn't hear the train nearby) and an adequate breakfast.

Room Tip: Ask for the ground floor room away from Interstate 95.

Efficiant, cheerful check in by "Drucilla" at the front desk. Many suggestions, where to eat, groceries, pharmacy, etc.- Room was on ground level but a handicap was not available. Room was typical but good bedding, pillows and clean.
Good sportsbar (Skynayrds) across parking lot. Loud, busy and good food! And no driving...
Next morning, 6am breakfast, supplied by a cheerful and effeciant worker, NIKKI. Nice way to start the day with pleanty of fresh coffee, fruits and hot eggs, etc.
Will definitaly go there again if I am in the area!

Room Tip: Although inly a minute from I-95, the hotel and area had everything the traveler needed. Pharmacy, g...

Stayed here mid week while birding at both the Santee National Wildlife Refuge and Beidler. Hotel was as expected-clean, comfortable beds, EXCELLENT pilows, and fast easy check-in/check-out. Front desk people were efficient and friendly.

The lady who worked the breakfast shift was wonderful. She was verry friendly and helpful. Her smiling face serves to get people's days off to a good start.

Because of property's age (and it shows to a point) I'd give it three stars; however the smiling face at breakfast warants 4 stores.I will stay here again next time the birds at Beidler and Santee call to me.

This hotel is in desperate need of updates. Room was clean enough, but quite simply...worn. The room had an overwhelming chemical smell that was almost too much. Safety latch on room was broken. Bathroom really needed to be remodeled, updated...so worn out. I will say that the bed was comfortable, the hotel was quiet and I slept well. All rooms have outside door entrances, which I've always thought of as a motel, not a hotel. Maybe that's me?
