I am currently touring North and South Carolina with a children's theatre troupe. As a result, my plans are frequently subject to change. One of the reasons that I chose this hotel on Priceline was that they offered a 24 hour refund/cancellation policy.
Inevitably, my plans for the weekend were changed and I called Priceline to take advantage of the offered cancellation policy, but I was placed on hold so long that by the time my call was answered the cancellation window had passed. After speaking with a representative and his supervisor; it was made clear to me that I would receive no refund because "it was out of their hands, and the hotel's policy not to cancel at this point." I then called the hotel directly and spoke with Julia at the front desk, who assured me that it was no problem to cancel the reservation and that she understood my frustration with Priceline. Because she went to bat for me I was able to get my refund from Priceline.
Although I did not stay with the hotel on this occasion, I would definately stay with them in the future because of this excellent customer service!More
