“Not great, overpriced.”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

A $22 meat platter should not be over cooked. Several pieces of just bones. It felt like we paid to eat leftovers- reheated food.

Spent $100 for a family of 6. Roasted turkey was pretty good. Pork bbq was not impressive. Found hair in two dishes. Tea was good.

Very nice people.

“Not up to snuff”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

I just left this place and the ribs were bland burned and a bit flavorless the macaroni and cheese lack flavor as if it had been reheated. The chicken and barbecue both had no flavor the chicken needed to be dressed in a sauce in order to be eaten. I was very disappointed in the quality of the food and we found hair in two separate dishes.

“Exceptional barbeque restaurant”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

I am a vegetarian so naturally barbeque restaurants aren't generally my first stop for a meal, but this barbeque restaurant is an exception! Everyone can have a delicious meal here. My choice was for the smoked shrimp burger which was absolutely terrific. Wonderful taste, shrimp bound with cornbread and a small amount of panko. My choice of sides was succotash which was simply the best version of this Southern staple I have ever tasted. There was constant traffic from local workers for barbeque and ribs, this is clearly a favorite of those who know Port Royal.

Highly recommended. By the way, the owner, a retired Navy man, is a delightful guy to engage in conversation.

“Tasty Barbecue”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

This place was very good. The restaurant was clean, staff was friendly and provided good service, and the food was good. It wasn't the best bbq we've ever had, but it was certainly tasty, and we would go back. We ordered ribs and chicken. We enjoyed the sauce varieties. Give it a try!
