“The most convenient place to bird watch in the Lowcountry”
Review of Cypress Wetlands

Cypress Wetlands
Reviewed November 30, 2012

Birds, birds, and more birds. Cypress Wetlands is incredible, particularly in the morning hours. Tons of egrets, herons, and other waterfowl. It's truly amazing that this little slice of nature is right in the downtown (the old village) of Port Royal. Definitely add this to your to-do list. Less than 10 minutes from downtown Beaufort

We visited the Cypress Wetlands in June and enjoyed a short stroll around the board walk. This is a great place for the wild life photographer to capture pictures of herons, egrets and other birds as there seems to be hundreds of them in this small area. Be sure to bring a camera that has a zoom lense. I was disappointed that forgot mine so these pictures done do justice to the beauty of the birds. I think this is also a good, free thing to do with school age children as well.
