A course with a great layout and some truly spectacular holes. Plenty of water. A true challenge. It's also quite different in that there are a number of holes including the first two, where you can easily land in 'wasteland'. These areas look like bunkers but the local course rules allow free drops in these areas. Takes a bit of getting to grips with. Best thing is to ensure you avoid. Hit straight!!
Really enjoyable test of golf.
Went there with group of 8 for annual golf trip. disappointed. Was looking forward to playing this course. course was not maintained well at all. Heavy leaf collection in sand traps, fairways had clumps of previous cut grass that looked like a river down the fairway. Greens were terrible. for the prices they charge expected much better.
We played Caledonia on 4/9 and it was as nice as its reputation and then we played True Blue on 4/11 and it was as poor as any course in MB. The greens had not grown in and there was exposed dirt. The entire course was neglected with un mowed rough, stones in the bunkers and unrated, un raked leafs under every tree, etc. We quit after 9 and they were understanding enough to give us our money back, good for them. We wasted our day.

A large group recently played True Blue (True Dirt) 3/30/15 and were not impressed with the shape or the cost of the round. The fairways were thin at best and greens were slow and bumpy. I understand a harsh winter in SC takes some of the blame but with the cost of the round and the amount of play they receive a little bit for rye grass would have gone a long way. Take my advice and play some where else until the grass begins to grow again.
A friend and I played this course last week and could not have been happier. From the young man at the pro shop to the young gentlemen that helped us at the bag drop/starter house we were treated with a smile and friendly conversation.
The day was cold so there was a delay starting, during that time the two young men at the starter shack were just great. They told us about the course, about their sister course and gave us insider information about the area. Well worth the wait.
Once on the course we were never disappointed. Open landing areas from the tee would lead to tight greens and fast putting surfaces. A great layout with houses/condos on only 3 or 4 holes, and almost no traffic, made for a very peaceful round.
This was easily the nicest course we played in the Myrtle Beach area.
I loved this course, challenging, immaculate, open areas, well kept. I think it is a challenging enough for all levels of play. As a 15 handicapper my self, I would come back in a heart beat! Good service from check in to tee box. Only issue is that they get caught up in more of the tourist stuff like photos and such. Oh well, play on!!!
