“Funky little gem hidden in the woods.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

The PIT is a relaxed, super informal spot with pleasant staff, great value, and food that is well-prepared with fresh ingredients. May take a little effort to find it (look for PIT roadside mailbox on west side of 17), but it is well worth it.

“Fun place - good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2013

My family vacations at Litchfield Beach (right next to Pawley's Island) every summer and the PIT is always on our agenda. A very casual, fun place to eat that is a nice change from the chains and some fancier places. Everything I've had there has been good, but my favorite is the pizza. Shrimp and grits are delcious and they have a very good chef salad. All ages enjoy this place and some nights (weekends I think) they have live music on the deck in front. One tip - if you eat outside in the summertime, bring your bugspray!

“GREAT LOCAL SPOT”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

Fun place - good food, especially the Cuban sandwich - just an all around comfortable place to spend a few hours...nothing fancy and certainly gives new meaning to "shabby chic".

“Local atmosphere, loved the crab cakes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012 via mobile

As previous reviews have mentioned, this place is more of a unique shabby chic, with dollar bills from customers stapled nearly everywhere! Have been here a couple of times because it is a good local place. One has to work to find it a bit. The little local shopping area is across the street from the famous Pawleys Island Hammock Shops. You have to drive way in the back to get to it!

Today we had the luncheon crab cake special. They were fabulous. The lunch special gives you a crab cake and a bit of cole slaw, potato salad and nice ports of seasonal fruit. It was just excellent. Lots of locals there as well as visitors. Very friendly service.

One reviewer talked about prices being high. What I have found in this area is that fresh seafood is more expensive. My lunch special was $11 for the food mentioned above. For what I received, I thought it was a good price.

“Great Pizza”

Love the pizza, and everything else I've tried is good. A little off the beaten path. Nice bartenders.
