On a recent visit to the Lowcountry, I took the opportunity to return to Louis's for a meal. Traveling alone and wishing, uncharacteristically, to eat a light repast, I ordered crab cakes, ceasar salad and a glass of Sauvignon blanc. Simply put, my meal was outstanding! I have sampled Louis's menu several times in the past. For first time patrons, I might recommend Shrimp and Grits or, perhaps one of the smoked meats that are so lovingly prepared by Louis and his staff. I am lucky enough to find myself in the area 2 or 3 times a year and always make it a point to visit Louis's at Sanfords. For the rest of the time I must satisfy my urges vicariously by reading Marlene Osteen's frequent updates which are sent to me via email and contain wonderful descriptions of menu changes, music and event schedules and the like. Do yourself a favor and sign up for these missives. I find it a great way to help make it through the harsh Boston winters! Thank you Louis & Marlene for a "Never Fail" dining experience!
