We went to Quigley's on the recommendation of a local restaurant manager -- now I'm doing you the same favor he did us: have a pint and a meal at Quigley's! First, the beer: we had a lager, an India pale lager (I know, right?) and an IPA. Each was delicious; properly flavorful for the style, very refreshing, acceptably sessionable for lunch on a 90 degree day.
We couldn't settle on a simple lunch, so we ordered a whole bunch of stuff: spinach salad with hot bacon dressing (loads of flavor), House made chili (chunks of beef, spinach, nice heat level - an award winner), deep fried pickles (crunchy, tangy, surprisingly good), and the piece de resistance - fried green tomatoes with goat cheese and blackened shrimp in a Thai chili glaze. Oh man, I'm gonna be thinking about that one for a long time.
Service was good, prices excellent, atmosphere relaxed. Don't miss it!
